I was pondering how to memorialize places in my life that have been meaningful to me over time.  This little quilt was an experiment with abstracting an aerial view of a place.  The idea is not necessarily to be strictly representational, but to create an abstract composition based on a site of personal significance…a kind of shorthand for preserving aspects of my inner landscape.

I have since sketched several other sites…and they somewhere in my long queue of quilts I’ve yet to make.
