For this piece I was trying to layer translucent colors to evoke a submerged environment, overlaid by organic forms like seaweed, as they might appear when looking into a moving, watery place.  The hand-stitching is intended to add texture and subtle dimension.

Materials:  Hand-printed and dyed cotton, pieced, appliqued, hand-embroidered and machine stitched.
